Jumilla comprises vineyards spread between the provinces of Murcia and Albacete and is considered one of the most emerging designations of origin due to the quality and originality of its wines, from the vine growers with their meticulous care, harvest controls and ripeness monitoring, to the winemakers with the best technology and modernization of their facilities.
Soils
Surrounded by mountains an at and altitude of between 400 and 800 meters, its soil have a high water capacity and medium permeability, allowing the vines to survive in conditions of prolonged drought and to make good use of the available water.
Vineyards
The Monastrell variety, an original Spanish grape, is widespread all along the Mediterranean coast, being the third most planted variety in Spain, and representing more than 80% of vineyards of the appellation.
Wines
Nowadays, the wines are made using the most modern techniques, which, together with the refined care of the grapes, creates excellent Jumilla wines, which are awarded world-wide.

Monastrell
grape.
The predominant variety in the area is the Monastrell grape. The cultivation of this grape is facilitated by the characteristics of the Mediterranean climate: high temperatures, strong wind and permeable soils, where the vineyards are located in plots with a good solar orientation called «sunny slopes», producing a small quantity of grapes but unequalled quality.
Alto de Bayna
Organic.
Alto de Bayna organic is a young wine made following totally natural processes, both in the vinery and in the vineyard, hence its classification as a BIO wine. To achieve its high quality, the best of the plant has been extracted, respecting the environment as much as possible.
Type: Organic red wine. Capacity: 750 ml. Vintage: 2019. Alcoholic content: 14,5% vol. Grape variety: 100% Monastrell.
Medium-high garnet red colour. Red fruit aromas on the noise, with a touch of milk and balsamic sensations. It is a balanced, voluminous, fresh wine, in which ripe tannins stand out, with hints of ripe fruit returning.
Organic wine ideal for enjoy tapas and as an accompaniment to: Cold meats, cheeses and white meats.
Alto de Bayna
Barrica.
Alto de Bayna Barrica is an aged wine, with predominant notes of Monastrell, the sweet notes of our local variety, the floral notes of the Syrah and the vegetables notes of the Cabernet Sauvignon. A wine with a strong and unique personality, and the elegance of the French oak barrels. A very playful wine, easy to drink and harmonious.
Type: Red wine with 5 months in oak barrels. Capacity: 750 ml. Vintage: 2018. Alcoholic content: 14,5% vol. Grape variety: Monastrell, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah.
Very expressive in the mouth, where you can appreciate the balanced blend of the varieties that compose it, with a first impression of elegant acid freshness, ending with the dominance of the fruitiness and maturity of the Monastrell. Smooth, well-integrated toasted notes of caramel, toffee… typical of its aging in new French oak barrels. It is a fresh, lively, balanced, harmonious wine with a long aftertaste.
This medium-aged red wine is an ideal accompaniment to: Stews, grilled meats and cured cheeses. Best served at a temperature of 16 – 18º.
